Moye and Family "just adopted our sweet dog on Sunday [4/15/07]". Moye says, "I came up with a name in the middle of the night. Fyi, he came to us as Fred, which just didn’t seem to suit him. This morning we settled on Caleb. It feels gentle, dignified, and adequately doggy — it’s from "Kalba" the Aramaic word for dog, which led to "kalb" in Arabic and "kelev" in Hebrew. (My husband has been doing some important peace-seeking work in the Middle East in the last few years, and in fact is off to Jerusalem again in two weeks, so it seemed especially appropriate.) And this Caleb is very much a dog (as opposed to a dog-like fluffball)! Probably a lab, shepherd, chow (black tongue) mix. But sweet as can be, not at all aggressive, easy easy to walk, hasn’t barked once, hasn’t bitten off my children’s noses. Here are two photos pre-tag for you".

What great photos!! The one of your son with Caleb is so endearing....makes us want to say awwwwww....how cute is that....Caleb looks like he's found his forever home! Oh, we can see that Caleb is no fou-fou dog :-) What a BEAUTY he is!!! He sounds like a gentle giant of a dog the way you describe him. What great characteristics he has! So glad he gets along with your children, that's so important! Yes, he definitely has the german shepherd body/markings, and what a sweet face! It's so wonderful of you to adopt Caleb and give him a loving home. He's so lucky you chose him, and I'm sure he's already becoming your family's treasured "best friend". We're so happy you found each other!!
