Barbara's Beauty:Barbara says, "Gabby was rescued through Rover Rescue in Redondo Beach, Ca. She is a one year old ‘Chorkie’, part Yorkie, part Chihuahua. She had been hit by a car and her family, probably due to the costs, took her to the pound to be euthanized. In order for her to heal properly she had to be kept crated for around 2 1/2 mths. One of her favorite things now is to go for a walk or better yet, play at the doggie park. My heart smiles to see her running out in front with three or four other dogs following! We are so thankful to have her in our lives and it seems the feeling is mutual!"
Kudos to you, Barbara, for rescuing Gabby! We can't believe she's a rescue.....how could anyone not want that sweet little girl, so adorable!.....we're so happy she's found a loving home.....yay!
And oh my gosh, that is so sad what happened to Gabby.....but she is truly lucky that you rescued her. And poor thing, that she had to be crated for 2-1/2 months. But what a happy ending, she is truly flourishing under your loving care, you should be so proud of what you did....you saved her life! How wonderful that she's able to walk and play now! We've never heard of a "Chorkie"....how special is SHE! She sounds like quite the character, it made us smile visualizing her as the alpha dog, with all the others following her lead :-) Go Gabby!
We wish little Gabby all the best in life, we know she's off to a brilliant start!

Danielle's Beauties:Meet Gunther, an English Mastiff, and a big 'ole sweetheart of a dog, just look at that beautiful face and those sweet eyes, just a big 'ole teddy bear! And Pickle, so handsome and majestic-looking, with those stunning eyes and beautiful coat...we bet you rule the roost too :-) Danielle rescued both Gunther and Pickle...YAY! APPLAUSE!...APPLAUSE!...for your generous, loving heart!!!
Danielle says of Gunther, "i'm so glad you liked the pictures of my big boy!! he is pretty, isn't he?? we just love him to death. we adopted him a little over 2 years ago. he's the BEST!
isn't it hilarious that the large tag looks so small on him!?!? he is a big one! but a big BABY to be honest. just a gentle giant. he's actually an english mastiff. everybody asks if he's a bull mastiff though!
i'm glad you like his name! i love it too. he was 2 when we adopted him, and that was his name from the people that had him since he was a pup, but then left him at the rescue. i still can't believe that they could do that to him. if you knew this dog, you would never dream of giving him up. BUT....it worked in our favor b/c he was there waiting for us when i found him on petfinder. but we just couldn't change his name. he had been thru so much already. he was ripped from his family & home and his other dog friend, only to be left at a rescue to live outside during the winter for a few months, until we took him home. could you imagine giving him a new name on top of it all?? poor guy. but, we loved it anyway luckily! even if we didn't, we still wouldn't have changed it on him. but i can't imagine what was going thru gunther's mind when he was being left. the wife didn't even get out of the car to say good bye to him when they were leaving him. she didn't even care one bit according to the woman that runs the shelter. i just can't comprehend any of that at all. it makes me mad just thinking about it.
but yes, we feel so so so lucky to have found him! a few people went to meet him before us, but never came back. it was like he was waiting for us the whole time!! now he's a big spoiled baby, and we love it!"
And Danielle says of Pickle, "now pickle i named. i've had him for a looong time. he'll be 17 this october.....not that you could tell from the way this cat acts! especially with the dog! you would think he was still a kitten! :o) i've attached a few pics of pickle. he's looking quite dapper wearing his fishbone tag that you guys did a little bit ago for me! he's a silver tabby with beautiful light green eyes. my parents found him in the window well of a new house that they had just bought back in 1991. they heard all this yelling & screaming and thought it was a cat stuck somewhere. they searched and found this little itty bitty baby kitty. he was SO young that the hair on the top of his head was longer than his ears!! he was way too small to be away from his mom. so at first i bottle fed him with a toy bottle for a while. then when he got older and could handle more than milk, i mashed up kitten food with water, and used a syringe (without the needle of course) and fed him that way. he slept in a box next to my bed and would wake me up in the middle of the night for feedings! he's so funny.......def not your ordinary cat. he honestly acts more like a dog, but i swear he thinks he's a human! he's great though. just the friendliest cat you could ever meet. everybody loves him.....even people who don't like cats!! they just can't help themselves. :o) i think if more people knew how many animals were out there, and how rewarding it was to rescue one, we would hopefully see an increase in adoptions. and i agree with you, somehow rescued animals just know, and they do make the best pets."
WOW...now those are two amazing rescue stories, we LOVE happy endings. Gunther and Pickle are sooooo lucky you found them, and we know you feel lucky to have them in your life. You are one wonderful, big-hearted lady to have provided a forever home for two dear orphans, just wish there were more people like you in the world! How could anyone not want Gunther, and how someone could just leave Pickle at such a vulnerable age, in a window well no less, is just beyond belief... But thank goodness you came along to "save the day"....YAY!!!! Just one look at those photos and anyone can see how much they're loved and cherished. You're their hero!!!!
P.S....Gunther means "Warrior" ... and Gunther has definitely proven he possesses the warrior's heart! Perfect name for such a brave boy!
